Numbers 21:4-9 Common English Bible The bronze snake’s healing power 4 They marched from Mount Hor on the Reed Sea[a] road around the land of Edom. Jesus heals Simon’s mother-in-law 29 After leaving the synagogue, Jesus, James, and John went home with Simon and Andrew. 30 Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed, sick with a fever, and they told Jesus about her at once. 31 He went to her, took her by the hand, and raised her up. The fever left her, and she served them. Deuteronomy 18:15-20 15 The Lord your God will raise up a prophet like me from your community, from your fellow Israelites. Mark 1:1-8 The Message John the Baptizer 1 1-3 The good news of Jesus Christ—the Message!—begins here, following to the letter the scroll of the prophet Isaiah.
