Classic album overview time is here again. Brighter Death Now's "Innerwar" is a pivotal album for industrial PE. The CD on Release was a staple in all 90s collections and it holds up better than ever to this day. A true landmark in the death industrial power electronics noise world, "Innerwar" is for everyone who’s had enough.

S-Core simply exists. There is no beginning or end. "My Candle Has Died" has always been there, it just took S Core to tap into the stream and bring it to life. A perfect album on a perfect label. These things live in no time and in all times. S-Core resides in mind. S-Core forever and ever.

Maria Zerfall passed away in February and Sean Ragon (Cult of Youth) had the idea to pay tribute to her with an episode. He chose the "Tote Zone" cassette to discuss which we used as a jumping point to get into her very mysterious discography. Having recently discussed his collaboration CD with Merzbow, we thought it’d be a great time to have a conversation with Christoph Heemann. One of the main culprits behind H.N.A.S, Ultra, Mirror and so much more, Christoph provided some incredible insight and an equally incredible laugh. This is a great historical episode that looks at the underground from the '80s and beyond. For the extra segment on the Patreon, Christoph talks about working with David Tibet and being a part of Current 93's "Soft Black Stars."

Jack Sargent, author of Deathtripping: The Cinema of Transgression, Against Control: Essays on William Burroughs, and the forthcoming Industrial. Surreal. Outsider. We are always fascinated with one off albums on classic labels, so it was cool to have a conversation with Gerald Stevens of Erinys, who released one CD in Tesco in 1998. In addition to his album, Stevens was an early inspiration for Greh to begin making contact mics. It’s a cool discussion from the distant days of the 1990s.

In keeping with tradition, we dive into the waters of field recordings for February and this time we discuss on of the classics of the genre - "Weather Report" by Chris Watson. Having spent time in Cabaret Voltaire and Hafler Trio, Waston set out on a lifelong journey recording in the field. "Weather Report" was his first compositional album in this style, and we get into every aspect of each track, from titles to location to possible sounds heard.

It’s the dead of winter and a Slaughter Productions tape felt appropriate for seasonal hibernation. Mortar’s self titled cassette fit the bill perfectly. Mortar is a necro project of Moreno Daldosso of Murder Corporation. Ancient times, old stones, sand, dirt, and storms are all present on this excellent 90s Italian cassette. Let this be the soundtrack to your crypt.

Following up last week’s episode, we wanted to discuss an album by an artist from "Japanese/American Noise Treaty," and we landed on Contagious Orgasm "The Flow of Sound Without Parameter" on Ground Fault. It’s a Series II CD and is as strange as it is wonderful. We love Ground Fault and we love Contagious Orgasm, so you can guess how we feel about this one. Hydrate your thirsty teeth and head out on your mission.

Class is back in session for another mandatory noise history lesson as we had a great discussion about "The Japanese/American Noise Treaty" with the man who curated it, Mason Jones. Mason gives us all the background and history of putting this mammoth document together. We get into the order, how artists were chosen, why some aren’t on it, the design and layout, and so much more. It’s truly one of the most important noise compilations of all time, and was incredible to get the story from the man responsible.

Hydra is an absolute favorite project of Noisextra and we felt is was a fine time to explore "Power." We dive into this classic tape on Bloodlust! from 1996 and are filled with every emotion throughout the discussion of this cassette. The world lost Greg Scott in 2003, but he forever lives on in this and all his releases. All you need is force.

We start off 2023 discussing some very serious noise artists with Cock E.S.P. "Greatest Dicks"” from 1996 on the one and only Pure. We get appropriately foul and dirty while discussing one of the most seminal, deep thinking and intelligent noise bands of all time. Cock E.S.P. mean it this time and they are definitely making it their business. Happy New Cock Noise Year!

Sometimes interviews slip through the cracks. Anthony DiFranco (Ramleh, JFK, Skullflower, more) joined us in the distant past and today our talk has be found and is transmitting to the world. With the recent JFK release on L.I.E.S, we were excited to unearth this conversation going over Di Franco’s history from discovering industrial and PE to working with Ramleh to his solo work and so much more.

Today is the Winter Solstice and the most appropriate recording we could think of was Coil "Winter Solstice" EP. The final four songs in the Solstice series, this is the perfect way to ring in the holidays, especially with the stunning beauty of the final track. It’s our first episode on Coil, and rather than going with one of their full lengths, it was nice to take our first steps in the form of this EP, as there will certainly be more Coil as the years go on. Feel the moon’s pull… Christmas is now drawing near.

Lon and Skott of legendary American industrial band Hunting Lodge join us for an in-depth discussion covering their entire output. 2022 marks the 40th anniversary of Hunting Lodge, and with multiple reissues of theirs rare release in the past handful of years, there’s no time like now to hear the history direct from the source. It’s a great talk with some true midwest DIY industrial stalwarts. For the ExtraNoisextra segment on the patreon, Lon and Skott have fun talking about their least favorite shows among other things.

2022 is slipping away so it’s time to rewind and discuss our favorite things of the year. This time around, we hear from multiple people including Jim Haras, Dominick Fernow, Richard Ramirez, Sean Ramirez Matzus, and many more. Neverending noise forever and ever. Happy Noise Year.

A collaboration that has come up on two recent Seven Inch Sundays, and one that was requested multiple times in our early podcast days, Merzbow & Christoph Heemann "Sleeper Awakes on the Edge of Abyss" is this week’s focus. An interesting and unexpected work, this album settles in quickly and brings up as many images as it does questions. It’s a great look at '80s Merzbow through the lens of Christoph Heemann.

A pure 90s noise tape was called for, and Killer Bug "Brutal Rainbow" answered that call. On the Noise label from Taiwan, this one tears the ground asunder. Killer Bug is the first incarnation of Kazumoto Endo, and while the cut up technique is present, "Brutal Rainbow" goes heavy on the trash, the porn, and the total noise.

Greh had the opportunity to play the Lausanne Underground Film and Music Festival in Switzerland this October. In its 21st year, this festival features experimental music and a variety of films and workshops. Greh spoke with perpetual LUFF attendee and former performer Dave Phillips, curator Francisco Meirino (aka Phroq), co-founder Thibault Walter, and performer Mark Vernon about the festival itself and some performances.
