We return to the Pure series to cover Prick Decay’s "Mud Sound for Car Stereos" as recommended by guest Anthony Saunders. Fitting perfectly in the realm of mid '90s RRR sound, we all wallow in the tape hiss and crudeness provided Prick Decay. In addition, Dylan Nyoukis provided some background info on this CD. Shane English (Corporate Park, K & S, L.I.E.S. Records) brought a very obscure 80s French industrial cassette to us with La Sonorite Jaune "Heliae" on their own SJ Organisation label. Shane has communicated with Pascal of LSJ and relays some background info on "Heliae." Matt Purse (Oxen, Unsustainable Social Condition) brought us a major noise LP to discuss — the first Hanatarash album on Alchemy. Matt’s love and knowledge of Hanatarash and all of Eye’s work is evident and incredibly exciting. Throw out any regard for your safety, fire up the bulldozer, and plow into this legendary band and album.

An absolute classic VHS called for our first in-person episode in a long time as we all got together to watch "Kingdom of Noise: Japanese Noise Selection." Truly mandatory viewing for everyone, it was great to revisit as these clips were some of the first noise visuals we saw back in the 90s. This tape is a perfect showcase of the breadth of Japanese noise featuring Masonna, Merzbow, Seed Mouth, Incapacitants, and much more. A mandatory look into extreme history.

The junk orchestra is tuning up as we sift through debris with Ferial Confine "The Full Use of Nothing." Squeals becomes notes, layers become voices, and chaos becomes ambient. An inspiring chunk of 1980s UK noise, this album leads us out of the mundane into the nothingness of total sound.

A CD as great as it is unexpected, Hermit /Thirdorgan "Dead Tech Machine Gallery" delivers a magnificent glimpse into the possibilities of 90s noise. Hermit’s garbage fi mixes with Thirdorgan’s utter harshness to generate a fascinating album. Part individual, part collab, part live…all personality. The spirit of worldwide DIY underground is alive.

A multi format release closes doors that can never open with Vromb's "Perimetre 3+10" on Ant-Zen. The rhythmic noise hypnosis of this release connects us all to event horizons. Tara attempts translate and dissect the French vocals and discovers a conceptual theme imbedded in this great late '90s black hole.

In our first episode on a Ground Fault Series 1 CD, we bring nature inside with Kiyoshi Mizutani’s "Bird Songs." Tara supplies the info on some of the specific birds heard on this album, and we all get lost in a sea of trees. Let the natural world lay down the atmosphere in your unnatural surroundings.

Darkness descends on the podcast as we discuss MZ.412 "Malfeitor." We are thrilled as Nordvargr himself lent his voice to this episode and gave us insight not only into this album, but the project as it was in the late 80s. Crowbar your way into the engine room and stare into the abyss.

Before there was Brighter Death Now there was Lille Roger, and we head back to 1985 to discuss his “For Life” cassette. It is a wonderful soundtrack to counteract the monotonous hopelessness of the mundane, as Tara attests to in this episode. Listen and raise the undead.

June is calling so we thought it would be a great time to cover "Endless Summer" by Fennesz. It’s our first time highlighting a Mego album and this seminal disc is a fantastic marker of a particular branch of noise sounds. Melodic guitar swims under broken computer sounds and we are washed away in its waves. Note: apologies for some mic crackle and distortion on this episode.

A morbid industrial classic haunts new buildings in the bleak form of "Ephemeral Dawn" by Anenzephalia. We take a look at this slow and tense mid-90s document that gives the same necrotic chills today as it did then. Here the dream dies!

We travel back to a fateful night in 1912 with Seed Mouth’s astounding "Titanic" CD from 1996. An incredibly unique and special Japanese project, Seed Mouth brings something ineffable to the noise landscape. In addition, we discuss the Titanic disaster and how we see it relating to the expanse of this album.
