The historical narrative of the exodus story is one of the greatest revealer’s of God‘s character and our need for dependence on Him. This week’s message gives the Multiply Community a five part framework of this narrative for as well as ways to find hope in the desert.

On this week's podcast, we look forward and discuss the new season we believe God is leading us to.

This week, Pastors Sanchez and Casey conclude our vision rally by celebrating a new season of hope. We discuss the importance of resting, the celebration of Juneteenth, and the preparation of moving from Egypt to the Promised Land.

Pastor Stephen and Pastor Casey had to somehow make this thing happen without their buddy Pastor Sanchez this week so hopefully we did him proud. Last Sunday was a time to reflect, remember and reframe some of what we have been talking about all year, especially in light of yet another police-related shooting of a black man (Rayshard Brooks). We don't talk about these things because they are trendy, we talk about them because they are Kingdom.

In this week’s episode, Pastor Sanchez and Stephen shed some light on current pop culture, the progress of Multiply Church, and also help define holistic discipleship. Pastor Casey meanwhile rightfully sat this week out while at the beach enjoying some very much needed vacation with his family! Listen to hear about how Pastor Sanchez is helping people process our current cultural moment and providing resources for all people wanting to be a part of seeking restorative, redemptive Biblical justice.

This week we had the opportunity to have a special conversation with George Metz from the How We Rise initiative. George is working on a Charlotte-based research project in response to the 50 out of 50 study that put Charlotte dead last in upward mobility. The crew was back with a special guest who preached this past Sunday: Dr. Cassandra Jones. As a professor at Gordon Conwell and Executive Member of Multiply Church, we were excited to hear from Dr. Jones last Sunday and then spend an extended time on the Podcast diving deeper into her experiences and stories. You will be glad you listened!

This week the Trio were back at it again reflecting on the events of the previous week and how it had impacted their time at The Virtual Gathering this past Sunday. The text that was wrestled through spoke about turning the other cheek, but what was really on the table was resentment and the destructive power it can have over our lives in Christ.

Pastors Sanchez and Stephen recap the weekend, including stories about the decentralized prayer night from the previous Friday and a discussion on how Jesus’s words about oaths have both a personal and societal implications for those who live as citizens of the Kingdom.

Pastors Stephen and Sanchez mostly discuss pop culture and what you should be binging through all content platforms! Oh and they also dabble in how the church has weaponized a familiar passage of scripture.

In this episode Pastor Sanchez and Stephen discuss how the quarantine has provided an opportunity for people to engage with Multiply Church who may not have otherwise and look at a different perspective on Jesus’ words about the often misunderstood topic of lust.

In Matthew 5:21-26, Jesus challenges the law by highlighting that it is more beneficial for a person to reconcile their anger with a brother or sister, before bringing their gifts to him. This happens when you change your mindset and realize that reconciliation is the antidote to anger.

Pastor Sanchez and Stephen encourage you to keep staying home! And in addressing a tension we all feel, they chat about how Jesus did not come to abolish the law but did come to abolish legalism. Engaging. Educational. Emboldened.

The COVID-19 virus continues to sweep across America, but hopefully this podcast will re-source and re-direct your attention to the Kingdom God is calling us to live for. Reflections today from the full squad as they talk through this past Sunday's virtual gathering and make plans for the future.
