If you've ever searched for saddle hunting content on YouTube, you probably know the name Spencer Valeri. Spencer is a tried and true saddle hunter and he puts out some great content on his channel named - you guess it - "Saddle Hunting". He reviews a ton of saddle and mobile hunting gear and provides honest feedback. He shoots a traditional bow to boot, so it was definitely great to talk to him and pick his brain for his experience and insight. I'll leave a link below to his channel. Bow hangers, hitch-tending devices, attachment clips, climbing stick accessories and a host of other innovative products. Austin and his wife saw a gap in the market for such products and being the entrepreneurs they are, decided to create a company and fill that niche. This is a special episode. I talk with one of my favorite people, Jason Samkowiak of the Traditional Bowhunting and Wilderness Podcast. Jason is an entrepreneur and a go-getter to the core. After enduring the tragic loss of his son, Jason funneled his emotions and energy into making the most out of life. He's been extremely successful starting several new businesses and is working his butt off to be able to hunt, travel and enjoy life as much as possible. We talk about having a success-oriented mindset, entrepreneurship, hard work, successes, failures and lessons learned. There is not much talk of bows and arrows in this episode. This was a very cool conversation. Nancylia is relatively new to traditional bow hunting and hunting in general. Her story of what brought her here is very eye-opening. Sudden and relatively traumatic life changes have paved a path for Nancylia to re-focus her life and her surroundings. Archery, hunting and gardening have proven cathartic for her and now she's able to help others get through their own life challenges. She has a very positive message and an amazing story. Clay is an absolute killer. Living in Texas, Clay gets to put into practice his traditional archery skills on hogs pretty much year round. He's got a ton of experience doing it and uses anything from spot and stalk, to feeders to shooting them at night with a light. We get into his various hunting styles, tactics, and overall the overall hunting experience in Texas. So this episode is a little different. When I first asked Chris Sekol to be a guest, it was with the intent of getting to know him better and BS about archery and hunting, just like any other episode. But this one turned into a detailed recount of his battle with cancer a few years ago. We do talk about bows and hunting a little bit, but the biggest takeaway from this episode is the importance of living life to the fullest and not taking anything for granted. Chris is a living example of rolling with the punches and dealing with things that are out of your control while keeping a positive attitude over the things you can control. Butchering, processing and cooking wild game is a huge part of the enjoyment of hunting for me, so whenever I can talk to someone who has similar passions, I want to take advantage of it. Nick Otto is a hunter, amateur chef and the host of the Huntavore podcast. Nick is about as passionate about wild game cooking as anyone I've met. We geek out hardcore on this one regarding processing, cooking, preparation methods, kitchen tools and a bunch of other stuff. Honestly we need to do a Part 2 because it was so much fun talking to him. Even if you're not the greatest home cook (or have much of an interest in it), you may glean some useful information out of this one as Nick is a wealth of knowledge. I figured it was high time he came on the show to get his opinion of archery, the industry, hunting, politics, etc. as someone who spends most of their time on the other side of the counter. There are a lot of guys who have hunting channels on YouTube (me included), but very few actually walk the walk as successfully as Bill Langer (I wish!) His channel, "Traditional Adventures TV", proves Bill is one heck of a hunter. In fact, he was one of the first people in the traditional hunting space to video his hunting adventures and sell them as DVD's. Bill is a deer hunting Connecticut native, but he's hunted all over, including elk out  west, hogs in florida and a bunch of game in Africa. He's a damn good guy to boot.
