The Jesi Cason Interview - CITY OF PALMS PODCAST
02/03/2020 Duración: 45minThe one and only Jesica Son! (just kidding don't call her that) In her own words, Jesi Cason is someone who specializes in directing awkward people to be cool, overcoming "unphotogenic syndrome", and lighting for optimal badassness, just to name a few. She has worked for the last handful of years as a full time photographer, gaining skills both unique and commonplace which has molded her into one of the most prolific and interesting creatives in Southwest Florida. She works with bands, friends, creatives, and brands locally and nationwide, and her website reflects what phenomenal projects she has been a part of. Jesi truly is a role model to look towards if you are trying to learn a skill and showcase your work, but more importantly, if you are trying to run a business, because not only has she harnessed her art, but she's also maintained her integrity as a professional. We hope you enjoy the conversation as much as we did, and go to jesicason.com -----@jesicasonphotography----- THANKS FOR LISTENING GO

30/12/2019 Duración: 01h25minLAST PODCAST OF 2019! We wrap up the year while getting to know the talented Chris Topher. We laugh the whole episode while traversing through stories of his employment and residential past. Chris experienced extensive lessons on life as it took him from the business world, across the country to Walla Walla Washington as a bee keeper, back to Southwest Florida. He tells of his childhood pursuit singing in the youth choir, the vast benefits massage therapy can bring your life, the creativity-crippling conditions of the corporate world, and his making an unofficial debut as a musician at the local karaoke bar a few years ago. Chris Topher is a nerd just like we are! And he is a talented singer-songwriter, so we expect that he'll be making even more progress and positivity next year. @c.topher.king THANKS FOR LISTENING GO SUPER SAIYAN! - Patreon.com/professorshred Email us cityofpalmspodcast@gmail.com ANCHOR PODCASTS FACEBOOK INSTAGRAM SPOTIFY APPLE PODCASTS - @prof.shred - @kinglombardo47 INTRO/OUTRO BEAT

The Yano Interview - CITY OF PALMS PODCAST (EP. 39)
09/12/2019 Duración: 01h05min"X-N" TO THAT "V-I" TO THAT "X" - Sensei Yano, the all-around-awesome artist and ad lib aficionado Yano is not only one of the founding members of the SWFL hip-hop group "XNVIX" but he's also one of the most skilled lyricists that this area has to offer. His single "Burna" goes HARD and is a good example of how far this man has come as an artist and performer. We talk all about his start with music in high school, his experience freestyling, and the friendships made through music that eventually sparked the start of XNVIX. We at the City of Palms Podcast have one thing to ask from you as a listener. Turn on a Yano track and listen - like REALLY listen. Hip-hop at it's essence is about molding words and phrases into a message that, when paired with the music, can move a crowd and influence a mind in some way. To be a skilled MC is having the ability to use language and music in this way. Yano (and the rest of the hip-hop Akatsuki XNVIX) is a gem among SWFL talent, and truly a gem to hip-hop as a w

The Slyte Interview - CITY OF PALMS PODCAST (EP. 36)
18/11/2019 Duración: 01h10minAt last! The folks from Lyrical Lemonade referred to him as "The Godfather" of Southwest Florida rap music, and they weren't wrong. Slyte has a heavy discography on music streaming platforms from the years of work he has put into hip hop. "The Backhouse" - a sort of mythological entity to some people in the local music scene - was originally Slyte and his friends around town getting together to hang out, party, and spit bars. This dynamic caused Backhouse to evolve into what it is today - a record label that is gathering some of the most talented MCs, musicians, and artists from the local area to highlight what SWFL has to offer the music industry. Other than being a creator himself, Slyte evolved over the years as well and is now a music mogul in the making. He wears many hats, and has handed out many others as he builds a team of like-minded creatives to establish something to make waves around the world. It was great to hang out with him and chat, and we look forward to seeing who is next to blow up out of

The TAYPTHEGEMINI Interview - CITY OF PALMS PODCAST (EP. 35)
11/11/2019 Duración: 57minBringin in the boys from the Backhouse! Tay P talks about his countless days freestyling with his friends and making moves ever since he was in high school. Over the more recent years he's been busy learning - making the transition from writing, recording, mixing, and mastering his own songs via Garage Band on his iPhone to meeting with producers in professional studios and collaborating with artists across Florida. He now has music on all major platforms and is dropping singles regularly. The Kevin Rios Interview - CITY OF PALMS PODCAST (EP. 34)
04/11/2019 Duración: 41minDo you like hip-hop? Ever wonder what exactly goes into producing a song besides spitting bars? Kevin Rios is a SWFL local who knew he wanted to produce hip-hop beats since he was in middle school. Kevin has been producing music for years, and his Instagram page is full of him cooking up hits and hard bass kicks, but his debut project being released to the masses is called "Heights" on November 8th! You can see him and the whole crew of rappers and MCs who have teamed up to produce tracks on this project. His music production is being tuned and grows more and more everyday, so this project should be a launching point towards future projects and collaborations. We had a lot of fun chatting with him. Come out to Palace Pub and Wine in Cape Coral at this year's "Rock for Equality" event on the night of November 8th to hear these guys spit their bars on stage! City of Palms will be there, and so will many of the podcast alumni like Sling, Lutz, and more! @rios_239 THANKS FOR LISTENING GO SUPER SAIYAN!

The Jay Saint Interview - CITY OF PALMS PODCAST (EP. 33)
28/10/2019 Duración: 55minAKA Mr. Put-em-in-the-grave The dude is on a warpath. He's been freestyling and making music for over a decade, and has been pretty under the radar in terms of SWFL hip hop, but mark my words - your'e gunna be hearing more from Jay Saint. Whether he is spitting bars in a local cypher or spending hours in a studio producing an EP, there is much more to be heard from this up-and-coming MC. We shared a great conversation with him where he told us some crazy stories from his time spent in the mountains of Oregon and about his methods of writing verses so that he can perform them flawlessly. 21/10/2019 Duración: 53minAlan de la Torre is a man with his hands on many different projects. After talking with him, it seems like he's tried several different outlets to let out this creativity throughout his life. Music is something that's been apart of him for many years now, and in more recent years he's been finding ways to link all of his projects together into one awesome, creativity conglomerate. He is an artist under the name Gutterlove, a rapper under the name Guttergod, and a guitarist for the metal band Traitors. He uses his clothing brand Scum Apparel to distribute merch for all of his musical projects, and it survives as an entity of its own. The operation is truly something to behold.
