Comeback Kid is a Canadian melodic hardcore band from Winnipeg, Manitoba, formed in 2001. In the beginning, Andrew Neufeld was one of the band's guitarist/backing vocalists and eventually, he would take over lead vocals when frontman Scott Wade exited the band in 2006. Neufeld's recording debut would be on the band's third studio album, Broadcasting... (2007). Guitarist Stu Ross joined CBK in 2012 when guitarist Casey Hjelmberg departed and debuted on the group's fifth LP, Die Knowing (2014). Since then, the band has released two more full-lengths totaling seven, most recently Heavy Steps in 2022, and has maintained a relentless touring schedule. Both Neufeld and Ross spend time on other projects, most notably Andrew is in Figure Four while Stu also plays in Misery Signals. Daryl Palumbo is the lead vocalist for Glassjaw and Head Automatica. Glassjaw has been a post-hardcore force of nature for the last three decades, influencing nearly every band you probably listen to. Found in 1993 by Palumbo and long-time guitarist Justin Beck, the band signed to Roadrunner Records and released their debut LP, then made the unfortunate leap to a major label when they signed with Warner Bros for their sophomore release 'Worship & Tribute'. After the long fallout with WB, the band has gone DIY/independent. Palumbo also fronts Head Automatica..... honestly, I could write essays on GJ/Palumbo. At this point, if you aren't familiar with Kirk Windstein from one of his many bands from the last 40 years, then you must live under a rock. The New Orleans-based guitarist is responsible for writing some of the most memorable riffs that have influenced generations of guitar players. His band Crowbar is one of the first sludge metal bands to ever hit the scene, he also joined forces with Phil Anselmo and Dimebag Daryl of Pantera in Down, he and Jamey Jasta have collaborated in Kingdom Of Sorrow, and most recently Windstein has helped launch a new super group Eye Am which features members from Type O Negative and Down. Alex Vakartzas is probably most known for his time spent in one of the most notable early 2000s metalcore / "mallcore scene kid" bands, Atreyu. Alex spent over 20 years in that group, releasing classics such as their debut LP "Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses" in 2002 and (in our opinion) most notably "The Curse" which followed their debut. For one reason of another Alex and the band split, which we discussed, and after a few years away from music Alex has returned in a new heavier project, Dead Icarus. Formed in 2013 near Antwerp, Carnation, the Belgian death metal quartet, has amassed a formidable discography comprising multiple full-lengths, two EPs, splits, and live albums. Their recent release, 'Cursed Mortality,' the third LP, is out via Season Of Mist. Led by vocalist Simon Duson, the band signed with Season Of Mist in 2018. Josh Brigham is the guitarist and founding member of the Charlotte, NC-based post-hardcore/melodic hardcore band Hopesfall. Started in 1998, the band was signed to Trustkill Records in 2002 and released the fan-favorite The Satellite Years. The group would go on to release three more albums under Trustkill before going on hiatus in 2007, only to play a reunion in 2011. However, the core group of the band would continue to write over the years, and in 2018 Hopesfall released Arbiter through Equal Visions. Cannibal Corpse was formed in Buffalo, NY in 1988. Bassist Alex Webster is one of two original members, the other being drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz, from that lineup still in the band. In almost 40 years the legendary death metal band has released 15 studio albums, a few live albums, and a handful of EPs. For a band, much less a death metal band, Cannibal Corpse has accomplished what most wish to and Alex along with the rest of the band have no intentions of stopping any time soon. In 2021, the group released album 15, Violence Unimagined, and the death metal purveyors are unveiling their 16th album, Chaos Horriffic, in two days (09/22/23) while embarking on yet another tour. Brendon Small is an actor, comedian, writer, director, producer, and musician. Small created the animated series Homes Movies in 1999 and also had a love for metal music. In 2006 both of those worlds collided when Small began to create Metalocalpyse, a show based around the fictional death metal band Dethklok, for whom Small writes the music as well. Starting in 2016 the band has gone through a few member changes before landing on their current lineup in 2018/2019, which has found success with a handful of EPs. The quartet has had a grueling touring schedule but managed to grab the attention of Metal Blade Records, which released the band's debut album in 2021.
