#52. Enjoy the Flight
20/04/2020 Duración: 07minWe're not always ready for those "life happens" moments. Sometimes, at best, all we can do is remember our training and that change is gonna come. Word to Sam Cooke. Things rise. Then they subside. Then they rise again in different ways. Ways which also subside. In this episode, join me as I try to place you inside a few moments you or someone you know may have had or seen on TV somewhere. Because if you're gonna fall from grace, you may as well enjoy the flight. And who knows, it might not be as bad as we think. If you're still here, that means your story isn't quite over yet. #51. It's a New Day
13/04/2020 Duración: 12minYou know that frustration you feel when you go through an unexpected power outage? You're working on that all-important document that was due last week and you're rushing to get this thing wrapped, but it's been like an hour since the last time you saved your document. Weather's been nice all day, but then all of a sudden - BOOM. Your screen goes dark and all electricity is zapped from your house. A few hours go by, the lights come back on, you can reset your clocks, but your computer - you have to reboot. Only this time, it's not just you - everybody has to reboot their computers. Sounds a little like this moment we're in globally, right? Things are on reset, but maybe that isn't such a bad thing. Join me in this episode if you're game for seeing things from a different perspective. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #50. In action or Inaction?
30/03/2020 Duración: 18minIt's the 50th episode! It's also been just over a year since I've been podcasting! But the world's been turned inside out so I totally forgot about those achievements, which are probably not all that notable to you right now anyway. Nonetheless, the show must go on and today we talk being in action vs inaction. Where we are on that spectrum and ideas for what us small businesses can be doing during this chaotic time globally. You don't want to miss this episode. It's got that "I really needed to hear this right now" flavor to it, trust me. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #49. We Will Beat the Coronavirus
16/03/2020 Duración: 15minWhen it comes to politics, the media, and news cycles, I don't have informed opinions. That's why you rarely hear me talk about any of those things. But since we're currently dealing with a worldwide pandemic, people need hope. They need positivity. They need light. These are topics I know very well. So in this special episode, I share my raw, unscripted thoughts about our reactions to the coronavirus and how we might move forward during these times. I can't speak on how we got here or when it might be over, so this is not that type of episode. However, the CDC and WHO are covering those elements, so tap those links to learn more and follow their recommendations. Stay safe, be well, and be the love we all need right now. #48. Train Like a Champ
09/03/2020 Duración: 14minThere are a million "reasons" to snooze the alarm, go back to bed, and get to that thing tomorrow. But only one reason to answer "the call", wake up, and get to that thing today. It's to become a champ, which begins with rigorous daily training when we really don't feel like it. To become champs we have to train like them. We must develop strong, results-driven habits. And we have to train regardless of the weather outside or if we're not in the mood. This is what separates the legends from those nobody remembers. Join your boy in this episode where I share why I train the way I do while giving you the kick in the @$$ that might just get you to push yourself a little harder. Thanks for tuning in! #47. Success Determines Access
02/03/2020 Duración: 13minI'm back! After a 3-week absence, while the common cold-turned-bronchitis kicked my ass, I wasn't quite bedridden, but I did ideate some new episodes. Now I'm at like 99.9% and just recorded this fresh episode. Today, we talk about success. True success is measured by how much we can give rather than how much we can receive. Before getting to that level of success, where we have achieved several goals and have very minimal financial strains, maybe we could consider viewing success in terms of levels of access. Success is really about what or who we can access easily. More specifically, access to people, places, and things that will help us create an impact. Confused yet? Agh, it'll make a lot more sense when you tune in. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? Subscribe to this podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts. #46. Master the Moment
10/02/2020 Duración: 15minTo be unanimously, unapologetically present and engaged with ourselves, that thing, or that person is to master the moment. It is to be at complete peace and tranquility with whatever's happening around us, without wishing things we can't change were any different. This. Is. Life. The one we're missing out on available to each of us between all of the moments that we overlook. The one we're missing out on every time we regret our past and worry about our futures. Join your boy as we get present and explore some ways we can all master the moment and the benefits we gain from doing so. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #45. Wash Your Brain
27/01/2020 Duración: 17minEvery day has its struggles. Every day we’re bombarded with facts, opinions, gossip, reviews, and contradictory information. There’s so much input we’re taking in daily that we could all use a rinse cycle for our brains. Washing off all that isn’t useful to us in our larger lives and goals. Who said all brainwashing is bad? Join me in this week’s episode as I make a case for washing our brains almost after every time we take in new info about the world and share with you some examples of affirmations and tips of how we can retrain our brains to empower us rather than cripple us. #44. Lose the Ego
13/01/2020 Duración: 12minPracticing humility is sometimes harder than practicing confidence. To believe we are not the center of the universe. To shine a light on others and their dreams. To encourage some strength within them. To put other’s needs above our own. With all that we already have going on. But when we lose the ego, we gain compassion for ourselves and others. We are more powerful. More still. Less self-obsessed. Without having to hide behind that which covers our insecurities. Ride with me as we break down what the ego is all about along with a few bulletproof points on how to lose it. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #43. Nobody Owes You Anything
06/01/2020 Duración: 19minWhen we come from a place of "this better happen" or "people better respond this way to this thing I'm putting out", we are setting ourselves up for disappointment. Nobody owes you anything. Not their time. Not their attention. And certainly not their money. Yet we have a tendency to expect one or all of these things in business, just because we built something and have heard that people will come. The rules of commerce have changed and empathetic marketing is arguably the best way to earn the attention you desire when you cannot outspend your competitors. Join me in this unusually long, but totally warranted episode where we consider adjusting the mindset we come from and what it could mean for our chances at success. (This is totally and basically the sequel to my prior episode "Expect Nothing, Earn Everything.") Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #42. I'm Afraid to Die
30/12/2019 Duración: 15minWe're all afraid of something. I'm afraid of many things, the bulk of which I share in this episode, so that you learn more about what makes people like me tick. The layered thoughts that guide the choices and sacrifices we make. The situations we worry about. Fear can be a powerful tool when you use it to push you through the tunnel rather than around it or never leaving it at all. Furthermore, fear (at least for me) lives in the regrets of the past and in the unknown of the future. But it rarely lives here in the present; the gift of the now. So while we all sometimes fixate on worse case scenarios, things we have no power or control over, and pointless "what if's", the antidote seems to be a balanced life, here in the present. Happy 2020. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? Subscribe to this podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts. #41. Progress Over Perfection
23/12/2019 Duración: 12minAll too well, I know what it's like to hoard projects I'm working on from the world until I'm 1,000% satisfied with them. Clamoring for one final breakthrough or one last thing that will take it over the top before I release it has rarely served me positively. Usually, the stuff I was tripping over goes unnoticed and was irrelevant in the bigger picture. Instead, I should've focused on crafting an event and an experience around the thing I spent months working on. In this episode, I share some high-level ways we can build an extraordinary adventure around an ordinary product/service to earn the success and impact we seek. Great marketing and storytelling can make up for an average product when its our first rodeo, and sometimes, taking this approach saves us disappointment in the long run. Thanks for tuning in! #40. Celebrate the Small Wins
18/12/2019 Duración: 09minThere's always something to be grateful for. Always something to remind us of how blessed we are in this day and age. Always something we overlook when we only focus on the obvious and the bigger picture. There are extraordinary constants which we don't consciously recognize regularly. Things that happened recently, which we haven't given due praise. Things we've forgotten about too, yet still remain. In this episode, I invite you to celebrate the small wins from here on out; on a constant, daily basis. The access you have to information. The essentials which you're privileged to enjoy. In showing gratitude early and often, we are humbled by all that surround us on our quests in life and in business. Immediately, our lives are more rewarding and fulfilling, because there's always something to celebrate. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #39. Always Another Level
02/12/2019 Duración: 12minNo matter how far you go in life, how high your achievements, how many lives you impact, or how deeply you master your craft or area of interest, there is always another level for you to reach. Each peak you reach is just one is a sea of many. As our thinking and methods evolve through experimentation, what is the highest level today, could become the lowest common denominator tomorrow. Join me as I hit you with the three major tools to take with you on your next "mountain climb" or unknown journey. And who knows? By this episode's end, you just may look at achievement through an entirely different lens going forward. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #38. To Coach Is to Learn
25/11/2019 Duración: 13minI cannot claim to be a self-made entrepreneur, because I stand on the shoulders of giants. As a coach, I learn deeply each day. Most, if not all, of us, have been coached in some form if we've learned from people who know and have experienced more than us. We all need coaches. And all coaches have other coaches. But the true burden of all masters (coaches) is they become what their students grow beyond. In this episode, I invite you to look at coaching as learning. This is also packed with some high-level, practical ways to improve your coaching techniques. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #37. From Victim to Victor
18/11/2019 Duración: 16minI was a victim of bullying for a short time as a kid. I don't have a cool comeback story about how I fought those guys back. It didn't last long because either I bored them or they got what they deserved in some other way, but that's the only time in my life where I've ever felt like a sufferer. There's no fun or pride to be had in being the victim in any altercation. And though injustices can blindside us, we can still become the victors of our own stories, with time and with changes in our outlook. Join me as we attempt to go from victims to victors with three practical bulletproof points on how to take back control of our lives and stories. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #36: Bet On Yourself
11/11/2019 Duración: 14minEntrepreneurship is a lot like a casino and most times, you have to work with and from the hand, you were dealt in life. Though we don't really get to trade out cards with the other players, we do get to upgrade them and play the ones that play best to our strengths. When you've exhausted all options in betting on others, ever considered what would happen if you bet on yourself? That's the theme of this episode where I share some humble recommendations on precisely how to bet on yourself and win in the end. And the great thing is that no one else has to lose. #35. There Is No Safety Net
04/11/2019 Duración: 10minWhen all else fails... when it seems like everyone is counting you out... the world brings you to your knees... never lose trust in yourself and your own abilities. Our greatest strengths and weaknesses lie in how strongly or weakly we believe in ourselves. There is no safety net, but the one you create for your own landing, so invest in yourself, your own job security, and your own financial cushion. In this episode, we break down exactly why I depend on myself when I'm down and out, along with anecdotes about what you can do if you lost everything tomorrow. Thanks for tuning in! #34. But You Haven't Tried Everything Yet
28/10/2019 Duración: 11minEven when we feel like we've tried out every possible option for a business idea or exercise that hasn't led to anything special, we still haven't tried everything yet. Only in trying different things can we get to different outcomes. The subtlest shifts can lead to the biggest a-ha's. Sometimes, all we need to do to encourage new insights is to get around some new stories. Join me in this episode as I share some inspiring truths about why you haven't tried everything yet along with some different practices to test in trying some other ways to get to success, however you define it. #33. Challenge Your Beliefs
21/10/2019 Duración: 14minMaybe all that we've ever known is just one side of a story or one perspective. Maybe all that we know is all that we were taught from the environments we grew up in. Maybe what we knew yesterday is obsolete today. The more you learn, the more you earn. Not just money-wise, but also connection-wise. To evolve as a species, we must all challenge our beliefs often. Join me in this episode where I go deep into the effect not growing up in a church had on me, along with some different ways we can question what we know and become better storytellers because of it. Being genuinely curious about why people believe what they do has allowed me to cross over to places I may not have otherwise journeyed. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode?
