  • #32. Just Get Started

    14/10/2019 Duración: 15min

When you don't know how or where to start in creating that thing, the most important thing you can do is to just start where you are with what you have. Start small, start light, and keep it fun. Though simply starting is not enough to create sustained success, starting does give you options and fresh experiences that are worth the journey. I've started so many businesses that I never finished, which on one hand saddens me, but on the other, has allowed me to test several things quickly. Insights that I get to pass on to you. In this episode, I share with you how to adopt the mantra that everything is learnable, why starting small matters, and an important tip to make sure you get things done starting today. • #31. No Storm, No Rainbow

    07/10/2019 Duración: 13min

When life gives you rain, find the rainbows. The storm's gonna come anyway, but if we survive it, that pot of gold on the other side of all that thunder and lightning may be awaiting us. We cannot succeed without first failing many times, for there are things we must learn during the process before we are deemed worthy of success. In this episode, I share why I now embrace failure on the daily, some thoughts on how to "dance in the rain", and uncover what the pot of gold signifies. Failure is life's great teacher, equalizer, and judiciary. Accepting it as a natural precursor to success changes everything. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? • #30. Stop Selling, Start Connecting

    30/09/2019 Duración: 15min

We're all salesmen and saleswomen, no matter which industry we're in. Even when we're not pitching our products and services, every day on a personal level, we're selling our ideas and beliefs whenever we share our thoughts with people; trying to get them to see from our vantage point. Thing is, so few of us get to know those we're selling to before we go in for the sale. What if instead, we lead with conscious branding: the business of earning trust? Journey with your boy as I offer insights on how to come from a place of passion over profits. I also share why we must become stronger listeners of the stories we're surrounded with daily and center our businesses around the many issues of our audience. Because when we connect, that thing we're doing sells itself - no upselling required. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? • #29. Struggle Breeds Hustle

    23/09/2019 Duración: 11min

You don't get the hustle without first overcoming the struggle. If life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react, then maybe life is 10% struggle and 90% hustle. The kicker is that none of us are ever exempt from those "life happens" moments. The difference is in our Comeback Game; our resolve. In this episode, I share with you some of the things I still struggle with daily, a few ways you can view your own obstacles, and 3 bulletproof points on how to frame our struggles going forward.  Thanks for tuning in! • #28. You Don't Know Me: Part III

    16/09/2019 Duración: 17min

In the final part of this 3-part "You Don't Know Me" series, I distill big moments from my life from 2008 through today. Naturally, there isn't enough time to share every single seminal moment or memory I carry around, but hopefully this along with Part I & Part II help paint a solid portrait of my past. Things such as areas of my marriage, the businesses I owned equity within, and moves between homes*. There are many people I failed to acknowledge in this series who helped shape me into the man I am today, but just know that they still live through me. Other stories are for other days. Plus my memories continue to fade - thank goodness for my journal!  Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? Subscribe to this podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts. • #27. What Y'all Have Taught Me (Over the Last 6 Months)

    09/09/2019 Duración: 16min

Can you believe you've had me in your ears once a week for 6 months already? Well, I can't, but to mark the occasion, I've done a semi-annual review containing (most of) what you all have taught me since I started this podcast. Coaching goes both ways and as a student of life, I'm happy to constantly challenge and evolve my past and current beliefs. Join me in this special homage to each of my listeners where I share the good and inconvenient truths I've learned directly from you all. Thank you so much for allowing me to share stories with you all. You make me better! • #26. Do It for Them

    02/09/2019 Duración: 13min

Creating a brand or a business is never just about the creators. It's also about who we do this for, which becomes a part of our why. When we are crystal clear who that person or thing is, everything we touch becomes more intentional and purposeful. We create connections, loyalty, and bonds. Whether you know it or not, somebody out there cares about what you're up to and they won't do what they should be doing until they see you do it first. Journey with me as I paint a picture featuring that one kid out there who needs you to show and prove, along with some of the people I'm in entrepreneurship for, plus bulletproof points on how to do it for them - since it's much bigger than you or me. • #25. You Don't Know Me: Part II

    26/08/2019 Duración: 12min

In Part II of this 3-part "You Don't Know Me" series, I share with you impactful moments and choices from my life after 9/11 through the end of my first business venture in 2008. There's a lot of good here, along with some decisions I'm not too fond of. I've since learned that the good in life is usually flanked by the bad and the ugly as well. One of the toughest pills I've swallowed is that I lost relationships with my best friends and their families because of my entrepreneurial ambitions and selfishness. In other words, I chose business (and a domesticated life) over maintaining most of my older friendships. I hope my closet is now a little cleaner, and that the people of my past have since lived better lives without me in them, as I did not deserve their love. Listeners, I invite you to get to know the all of me. Especially the unpleasant parts (though again, there is some good here!). Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? • #24. Bred for Greatness

    19/08/2019 Duración: 13min

Each and every one of us was born with glorious purpose, but we don't always recognize it due to the thickened, callused layers of expectations and opinions of those who surround us. This episode serves as an all-important reminder of the greatness residing within you. Join me as I share examples of those I look to when things suck for me while demystifying any competitive advantages you think I have over you. • #23. They Know Nothing

    12/08/2019 Duración: 14min

All advice is not created equal. And most of us end up taking business advice from those better suited to provide life advice only. Sometimes those closest to us have not achieved their dreams because they were either too comfortable in their complacency - or because they failed once and didn't get back in the ring. Join me as we break down the things our peers, family, and friends tell us, when they really know nothing - along with ways we can become better equipped to absorb the advice we need to further our journeys in business and entrepreneurship. • #22. You Don't Know Me: Part I

    05/08/2019 Duración: 19min

Throughout this podcast thus far, I've shared tidbits about my story and how the lessons I've learned along the way tie into the topics I've been discussing with you. Still, nothing's quite like taking you on a chronological journey through some of my most seminal memories - to give you better context on the man behind the mic. Plus you all have asked me to share more of my history with you, so I listened and it's therapeutic! Join me as we walk through the ugliness and beauty of the first third of my life in real time (as I remember it). You may find that we have more in common than you think. Thanks for tuning in! • #21. Win the Morning, Own the Day

    29/07/2019 Duración: 16min

With the exception of a few careers such as singing, acting, or entertaining, success as an entrepreneur literally begins with bulletproof mornings. Whether you go for a jog, or prepare your kids' lunches, or set your intentions for the week - whatever's your thing - this is your self-improvement time. But the secret is that every powerful morning starts the night before. I'm not flawless, but I woke up like this because of yesterday's prep-game. Join me today as we discuss why mornings over nights usually yield better results and how becoming a morning person no matter what your lifestyle is, is possible. As usual, this episode ends with three (3) practical bulletproof points to help you win the morning so that you can own the day. *Learn more about natural sleep cycles: Calm Masterclass on Better Sleep feat. • #20. Make It Foolproof

    22/07/2019 Duración: 13min

Attention is quickly becoming the most valuable resource in the world, second only to time. As large companies spend billions each year on buying our attention, us smaller fish must be creative in finding authentic ways to cut through the noise. One path forward is to make your offering as foolproof, honest, and memorable as possible. In turn, you're more likely to be rewarded with mass adoption of your product, service, or brand. • #19. Actions Over Ideas

    15/07/2019 Duración: 13min

The ideas we have are often overrated, while the actions we take are often overlooked. Great ideas are meaningless without strong actions driving them. In this week's episode, you'll learn why I'm no longer impressed by big ideas, how great actions behind poor ideas work wonders, and three (3) actionable bulletproof points to help you make better moves today. • #18. Expect Nothing, Earn Everything

    08/07/2019 Duración: 11min

One of the biggest issues in today's culture is that we feel that people owe us something. Their attention. Their engagement. Their money. Their loyalty. But the truth is, no one owes us anything. When we shift our focus towards earning everything and expecting nothing, we are way less disappointed by sudden outcomes. In this week's episode, join me as I break down exactly how to earn the results you seek along with recent examples of how expectations I had nearly derailed me. And finally, I share three (3) bulletproof points on how to earn customer loyalty and sales for all of my entrepreneurial listeners out here. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? • #17. Don't Make My Mistakes

    01/07/2019 Duración: 12min

Don't let my optimism, passion, and motivational sensibility fool you. I still struggle on a daily basis, which I'm fine by, because lessons get learnt. It's not fun admitting our shortcomings and faults, but when done on our own merits, we become liberated. In this week's episode, I publicly admit to some of my mistakes, what I'm doing to rectify them, and what I've since learned that may help you in dealing with yours. Thanks for tuning in! • #15. Obstacles Equal Opportunities

    17/06/2019 Duración: 12min

Imagine if every single obstacle you faced brought with it an equal opportunity, hidden right there in plain sight. Would you then appreciate those inevitable, continuous setbacks? Every challenge we face can either serve us or stop us. In this episode, join me as we study how each obstacle brings new possibilities, tricks I use to capitalize off my own challenges, and ways we can turn roadblocks into growth spurts. • #14. Niche Down, Scale Up

    10/06/2019 Duración: 15min

As a brand strategist, I teach my clients how to become more consumer-centric and why the Empathy Business is the only business that matters. She who knows and serves her customers best, wins. And for you to win, no one else has to lose. In this week's business-focused episode, I uncover what businesses who disrupt industries are doing that you're not, why your brand visuals don't matter as much as you think they do, and how to niche downward so that you can scale upward. No matter what industry you're in, this is an evergreen lesson worth your time. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? Subscribe to this podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts. • #13. Talk Less. Walk More.

    03/06/2019 Duración: 14min

If talk is cheap, then walking is expensive. But it's a price I'm willing to pay. When we keep our intentions and projects to ourselves, not only do we exercise humility, it also forces us to become show-ers, instead of tellers. In this episode, I share ways in which you can work without talking about what you're going to do, examples of things I said I'd do but failed to achieve, and why you need accountability partners.
