Welcome to the first episode of our new podcast, How Spaceballs Is It? That's right, Mike and Josiah got tired of the old format, and their new mission in life is to determine just how Spaceballs everything in existence is! This was gonna be a timely episode with Disney's release of the new live-action Mulan, but the good ol' global pandemic has thrown off everybody's plans, giant movie studios and little baby podcasts alike. We had the distinct honor and privilege of determining How Star Wars C2E2 is live on the floor at C2E2 itself in the Podcast Central booth, run by the very nice fellas at Chuck Loads of Comics and The Chumpcast. We can't thank them enough for helping us bring our brand of Star Wars fandom to the masses. Also big thanks to Reedpop and C2E2 for making it all possible in the first place! This episode was super fun to record as we were basically watching hundreds of people walk past us in amazing cosplay the entire time. If we sound a little scattered during the live portion of the episode, it's because we were! We somehow were able to rate C2E2 on the HSWII scale despite the distractions, and we had a lot of fun doing trivia and giving away prizes with the folks who stayed to listen the whole time, and the people walking by who occasionally would stop to see what weird thing was happening. Recently, we had noted Sonic expert Pete Byrne as a guest on the show. Conveniently, the new formerly-terrifying-now-much-more-palatable CGI Sonic movie is coming out this week! Rise and shine you woodchuck chuckers, it's the How Star Wars Is It? Groundhog Day Special! Since we talked about the movie Groundhog Day during holiday month without our resident Groundhog Day expert Michael DeLaney, we figured we'd make it up to him by having him on the show to talk about a different movie entirely!  That's right, we're diving into the niche genre of Groundhog Day inspired time loop movies of which there is no better example than the underrated Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt sci-fi outing, Edge of Tomorrow. Or Live Die Repeat. The name of the movie is wildly inconsistent across all viewing platforms, it's very confusing. Hello Hsweeties! Welcome back from vacation! Load up those podcasts and get ready for the workweek before New Year’s Eve awkwardly interrupts and gives everyone a big hangover. Speaking of New Year’s Eve, we’re finishing out holiday month and 2019 in classic HSWII fashion: by doing an episode that is based on a joke that Mike and I made in a previous episode that will hopefully still be funny.
