Radio Active is an urban community radio station catering to diverse and heterogeneous groups in Bangalore, licensed to JGI. Launched in 2007, the station is a platform for different communities (by interest and by geographical area, including NGOs, other institutions) to converge/unite, share ideas, encourage creative expressions, raise issues (civic and social rights), promote local talent, foster local traditions, sensitize on issues of importance. Radio Active seeks to promote inclusion, good governance, policy advocacy issues and enhance community cohesion by dialogues

For Jacob, it started at Kodaikanal where he has a small house by a forest. "Once, I saw a heap of waste and some animals were eating into it. So I started clearing it up; it has just continued and more people have joined the effort." Jacob also threw a party called 'Plogging Party' which close to 30 people joined. Now, whereever he and his friends travel to, they share the news of plogging.
