A 14-Day Time-Out For Dallin - 3 Reasons Why - #176
22/01/2022 Duración: 05minDallin needs a little time-out. He needs a fresh palette and outlook to work from. Lately I have let the podcast slip through my fingers and become something that is done with less intention and purpose than it once was... so I am taking a break until February 3.Here are my three reasons why:1. This is not a full-time gig for me. Although I love doing the podcast it is not at a point where it is organized and planned out enough to support a much larger audience than it currently has. The way to get out of where it currently is is to spend some time in the roots and improve a lot of the things I have been meaning to improve.2. Discover myself! I have been struggling a bit in my last semester and taking this time out will ensure I give myself all the time I need to write to my heart's content. :)3. Get my semester off of autopilot. Right now it is and I do not like that lol.If you would like a free copy of my self-care handbook for college students coming out in February be sure to sign this quick 2-minut

3 Affirming Things to Tell Yourself (Self-Talk) - #174
15/01/2022 Duración: 09minAnyone who has talked with me in the last few months would know I kind of let my self-talk get out of hand - I started caring a lot less about what I was hearing and didn't tame it as much. It has led to a lot of feelings of inadequacy and imposter syndrome... but I'm not giving up! Here are a few of my thoughts that I have started telling to myself that have helped a lot for me overall.1. This isn't going to change how I feel about you2. This is the best thing that could have happened to me.3. I'm not giving up on you.BIG News! I am coming out with a quick college self-care handbook for college students! I wanted to come out with something that could help out people without taking a ton of their time to read. It's going to be $1, and I really hope it is helpful for you in some way!If you would like to help in its creation here's a survey. My 3 Mantras For 2022 - #172
06/01/2022 Duración: 10minWith all of the mental chaos that happened in my mind last year I have been a bit rattled up in the beginning of a new year. It is always easy to stress about making the same mistakes again...Thankfully I have had a number of thoughts come to mind to serve me, and I am going to run with them. These are my three mantras for 2022! I hope that they are inspirational for you in some way.1. "I was not ready, but I was prepared"2. Hakuna Matata... no worries... I am giving myself a worry-less 2022.3. "When making plans, think BIG, when making progress, think small.Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/YIELDTodayWithDallinPodcast/?hl=en Note: I have noticed that the recordings on my mic are not coming out as well as they used to. I am thinking that my apartment may not be the best setup for capturing my voice without background noise (hearing my breathing, machinery, etc.). I spent over an hour editing this episode as there were just so many little things I thought they ought to be taken out. Anyway

2021 Annual Review - #170
01/01/2022 Duración: 23minI had such high hopes for 2021. Ultimately though I didn't make it. I talked more about it here and what happened.I have high hopes for 2022 though. Hope you had a good 2021. :)Health -I was very hard on myself this year - mental healthRan a decent amount first part of the year and then with little injuries I started running less and less and I took that personally.I created systems but it was mostly for more output and not necessarily to help out me.Let my feelings lead to experiences far too much (wasting time and losing momentum)Realized how shallow my why isCared more what others thought of me than what others thought of meThe P/PC balance (ala 7 Habits) was very offSide Hustles - Came out with over 100 podcast episodesLet little disturbances train wreck my entire day (taking things personally)Didn't appreciate the small wins I was getting as muchWasn't super focused on things to get in the flow stateTried to "catch up" and kept pushing the finish line farther ahead of meAttempti

15 POIGNANT Lessons Learned From 2021 - #168
30/12/2021 Duración: 31minI had SO many takeaways from 2021. Here are some of the ones that I wanted to share with you though. I hope that they are helpful.Lessons Learned:1. 1:01 - Worrying doesn’t help anything, as time lessens the need for action increases. You are always preparing for what you will harvest in the future. Once you have a good enough idea of what you need to do next just take the thing down.2. 3:17 - The power of visuals – having images that inspire strong emotions that bring out your best is one of the best things that you can do. Giving your attention laser good things to bounce off of is a big play.3. 5:03 - The Need for Sleep – when you miss the sleep it is like you missed a plane, delayed, etc. I had plenty of overnighters and I felt the effects of them. Most of them were a waste of time – if you were stuck in an airport, what is the chance you would be productive? 4. 6:59 - Setting goals without a set, ever-evolving plan to achieve them led to LOTS of frustration. I set large goals but with

29/12/2021 Duración: 33minI heard Madison speak about breathing and presence at Tree House Talks last semester and was blown away by it! I thought she would be great for the podcast and she agreed to come on. Quick Thoughts For the Last Week of 2021: Death, Expectations, and Moving Forward - #166
27/12/2021 Duración: 07minIt is the last week of 2021! I am honestly super humbled with all of the insights that I have gotten this year. I will say that I feel I spent a bit too much time on the sidelines and worrying about things outside of my control. Here at the end of the year I have a bit more clarity on these things so I wanted to share some of my biggest thoughts to help me with this last week. I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you too."No one really believes that they are going to die." - Morrie, "Tuesdays With Morrie"This week I am planning to also drop episodes about my biggest lessons from the year and also an annual review about my overall growth and progress.Support the show

3 Gems From My Walk - #165
25/12/2021 Duración: 12minI recently finished up my internship at Stukent. The experience provided a ton of momentum and growth for me and I am anxious as to how to move forward from here. I decided to go on a walk with this as the main question in my mind. I came back with some solid gems of thought to ponder on and learn from. I wanted to share them with you in case these were some messages that could be useful for you too.1. "Don't wish for another timeline." - It is easy to compare our current lives to where we could possibly be if we had just done X or talked to Y. Sure, it is interesting to do so, but we need to make sure we take the energy from that thinking and transfer it into power to help out our current selves. If we do not do this we have, in a way, wasted that thinking power. The main thought with this is that some of the most important decisions of my life I have already made, and I am thankful I am where I'm at now. If I hadn't started a YouTube channel with my friends back in 2012 maybe I would

Giving Our Brains Good Thought Food - 3 Things to Keep in Mind - #164
22/12/2021 Duración: 21minOne of the most mind-blowing things I have learned in my life is how what we let into our minds influences a lot of what we are able to create and do in our lives. Today I wanted to dive into this important topic and share some things that I think will be helpful as you seek to consume more thought food that will help you in your lives.Amount - Our brains take in so much information at once it is easy to forget how the amount we are getting is influencing our other decisions and the quality of our thoughts looking forward. In general if you are consuming more than you are creating this is probably not a good thing. The thing to consider here is what is best for you and not just what is good for you. When - If you were intending to get some things done and you ended up getting sucked into thought food you didn't want this isn't good. Having a clear schedule of when you are consuming thought food helps you avoid complacency and pointless binges, because you know you have that other time set aside for a

3 Things I am Excited About! (People, Creating, and Travel) - #163
17/12/2021 Duración: 11minTruly this semester has shook me to my core. My lack of discipline in my schedule has led to a real lack in the overall living of my life. Even though my grades this semester were great my overall feelings and satisfaction of it were way low. Something that has helped me in darker times though is looking to and remembering things I am excited about for the future.... so... I dove into some of my quick thoughts on three of those. Hope you enjoy. :)1. People - Meeting new people from all walks of life is so fulfilling to me and you get to make friends you wouldn't have had otherwise.2. Creating - Creating a piece of content that is an extension of you is also so satisfying and encouraging. Knowing that it is potentially helping many people is an amazing thought.3. Travel - I love learning from and embracing my current atmosphere but I also truly enjoy traveling to other climbs. Getting other perspectives from other cultures, locations, etc. is a gift I plan to give a bunch to myself in the coming years. Is

01/12/2021 Duración: 22minRecently I have had a breakthrough with understanding better the vision for my life.
