CTP's In The Huddle - Depth Concerns & the Colts
18/08/2021 Duración: 52minJoin us for a conversation on your Minnesota Vikings. Some of your favorite Climbing The Pocket personalities gather together with you to talk about how the training camp has progressed. As the Minnesota Vikings work towards the Saturday night lights game against the Indianapolis Colts, there are some areas of some concern to us fans. Are the special teams still a problem? This manifested against the Denver Broncos with poor punting from Britton Colquitt, and we all saw that. What wasn't as obvious was the lack of breaking down and tackling by the gunners and the rest of the team. Both distance and placement by Colquitt and early tackling by the players are key to a favorable field position. Since the last game was all basically the 2s and 3s playing, we had hoped to see these guys prove themselves as good depth pieces. Few did. Are you concerned about the depth? What a difference between practice and game time make for Jake Browning and Kellen Mond. Whichever one of those two wins the QB2 job, are you worrie

Some of your favorite Climbing The Pocket personalities gather together with you to talk how the training camp has progressed. How the rookies are living living up to their draft status, or are not. Head coach Mike Zimmer has been frank with his assessments of them. “Welcome to the NFL” rook! Going from being the best athletes on every team they had ever been on, to riding the bubble if they even make the squad. Injuries have hit early, or normally, but it has brought up some depth concerns. Can the Vikes still address those or learned to play as is? And how is the team doing overall? Is the offensive line improved? The defense? The special teams? What about the kicking competition? Who’s stocks are rising and who’s are falling? Come join the conversation with the guys as they discuss the Vikings, these topics and more. SKOL! On tonight’s show: 1. Zim’s comments on the rookies. 2. GMG’s Two Old Bloggers - Injuries, Controversy & PS1 Vikings vs Broncos
09/08/2021 Duración: 50minDarren and Dave are selecting 3 topics, coming out of this last week of the Minnesota Vikings training camp. Topic 1: Justin Jefferson got hurt when Bashaud Breeland fell on him. It doesn’t seem devastating, thank Odin, but brings to light critical depth issues the Vikings and all teams have to deal with. He isn’t the only player hurt and not fully participating. Adam Thielen has a minor leg injury per reports, Anthony Barr has been out for something and Christian Darrisaw still hasn’t made it to full team drills. Mike Zimmer gets frustrated with injuries. Should he? Topic 2: Controversy struck hard this week thanks to QB1 Kirk Cousins’ press conference. It went national in a hurry. His attitude on the topic seemed to be what rubbed fans a little raw, but did it for his teammates and how will it effect the Vikings over the course of the season? Topic 3: The Vikings will host their first preseason game on Saturday in US Bank Stadium vs the Broncos. What do you expect to see? The preseason has been shorten

CTP’s In The Huddle - Camp, Vax Rates, & Gladney Gone
04/08/2021 Duración: 45minThe Minnesota Vikings are full into training camp mode. Pads went on today and the hitting has started. There was a standout play or two too. The big news started the day with Chad Graff reporting the Vikings have the lowest vaccination rate of any team in the NFL with at least 5 starters [Pro Football Talk reports 7] are still unvaccinated. After Saturday with Kellen Mond testing positive for Covid and the rest of the QB room with the exception of Jake Browning, were put on Covid protocols calling for a minimum of 5 day quarantine. Without being vaccinated, this could happen at any time during the season costing the Vikings games. Coach Mike Zimmer is noticeably frustrated to say the least. Earlier, a grand jury in Dallas indicted Jeff Gladney for 2 third degree felonies after he was arrest in April for domestic abuse charges. The Vikings released him this afternoon. Come join the guys as they discuss the Vikings, these topics and more. SKOL! On tonight’s show: - Training camp - Vaccination rates of the t

GMG’s Two Old Bloggers - Protocols, Osborn, Davis & Hunter
02/08/2021 Duración: 50minDarren and Dave are selecting 3 topics plus 1, coming out of the first week of the Minnesota Vikings training camp. Plus 1 Topic: The COVID protocols and how when Kellen Mond tests positive, it takes out 3 QBs including starter Kirk Cousins. Topic 1: KJ Osborn is getting some love from the coaches. After his rookie season where he was tried as a returner with disappointing results, he has focused on improving his wide receiver skills. It has been showing early and often so far in camp. Is it enough for him to capture the elusive WR3 position? The Vikes have Chad Beebe, Bisi Johnson [who left the field Friday with his knee in a brace] and new free agent Dede Westbrook. What about 5th rounder Ihmir Smith-Marsette? Will he surprise everyone? Can Osborn surprise everyone? Topic 2: What is with the Vikings under the Zimmer era always moving offensive linemen out of their drafted or natural position? We get that the more positions on the line makes a player more versatile especially when injuries start to hit,
