As the Minnesota Vikings work towards the Saturday night lights game against the Indianapolis Colts, there are some areas of some concern to us fans. Are the special teams still a problem? This manifested against the Denver Broncos with poor punting from Britton Colquitt, and we all saw that. What wasn't as obvious was the lack of breaking down and tackling by the gunners and the rest of the team. Both distance and placement by Colquitt and early tackling by the players are key to a favorable field position. Since the last game was all basically the 2s and 3s playing, we had hoped to see these guys prove themselves as good depth pieces. Few did. Are you concerned about the depth? It doesn’t seem devastating, thank Odin, but brings to light critical depth issues the Vikings and all teams have to deal with. He isn’t the only player hurt and not fully participating. Luke is visiting is home state and has been attending the Vikings Training Camp. He been sitting in the sun as he watches the team come together. The Minnesota Vikings are full into training camp mode. Pads went on today and the hitting has started. There was a standout play or two too. The big news started the day with Chad Graff reporting the Vikings have the lowest vaccination rate of any team in the NFL with at least 5 starters [Pro Football Talk reports 7] are still unvaccinated. After Saturday with Kellen Mond testing positive for Covid and the rest of the QB room with the exception of Jake Browning, were put on Covid protocols calling for a minimum of 5 day quarantine. Without being vaccinated, this could happen at any time during the season costing the Vikings games. Coach Mike Zimmer is noticeably frustrated to say the least. Earlier, a grand jury in Dallas indicted Jeff Gladney for 2 third degree felonies after he was arrest in April for domestic abuse charges. The Vikings released him this afternoon.
