Vikings Happy Hour - The Schedule Reveal
13/05/2021 Duración: 01h22minJoin us for the Climbing The Pocket Network’s and Daily Norseman’s “Vikings Happy Hour.” Andrew Harbaugh, Ryan Ortega, producer Dave grab their beer and talk the 2021 Vikings schedule. How many wins do you see? What about the prime time games, do you like those? Grab your libation of choice and join the conversation for Vikings Happy Hour! Dave, Ryan, and I had them all over the place result wise but the consensus seems to be around 10 to 11 wins, maybe more, but those two numbers seemed to be the average. Now, we mentioned that there may be more wins and that’s where these three games come into play. Three games can win a division, get a bye week in the playoffs, or even make you miss the playoffs entirely. Wins and losses may have increased for all teams but the Vikings are on the fringe of winning the division and more now, they are in an open division and that’s with Aaron Rodgers in the division as well. Now, as for those three games, I keep teasing, let us dive into those games and why exactly they wil

Tyler Forness’ Top 5 - Safeties
29/04/2021 Duración: 15minIn this final episode Tyler breaks down the top 5 safety prospects for the draft and the likelihood that the Vikings would take one at #14 is low, but later in the draft, almost a must. Harrison Smith and now the new free agent signing of Xavier Woods from Dallas will lock down the two starter spots, but behind them, the cupboard is weak and pretty bare. It may stay that way, or the Vikings actually might be looking for a future replacement for Woods who signed only a 1 year deal, or Smith if his age starts to catch up with him. Who are the best available? Safeties This safety class is interesting. While there isn't a true dominant player like there has been in years past, there is a lot of good talent on day 2 that can be had. There is a lot of variance with this class as well with multiple box, slot hybrid and center field players available. When I evaluate safeties, I'm looking for a lot of things but the two things I want to see are instincts and range. If you can provide those two things I can work

Tyler Forness’ Top 5 - Cornerbacks
27/04/2021 Duración: 11minIn this episode Tyler breaks down the top 5 corner back prospects for the draft and the likelihood that the Vikings would take one is high at #14 could be possible. After the legal issues of Jeff Gladney surfaced, suddenly the signing Patrick Peterson and Mackensie Alexander for a one year rental, Mike Hughes’ injury history and the fact that the only CB on the roster for 2022 may only be Cameron Dantzler, throw in Mike Zimmer’s affinity for corners and this selection may indeed happen. Cornerbacks This cornerback class was a lot of fun. From top to bottom, this class is loaded in the top 100 with a lot of varying play styles. I believe there are upwards of 7 guys who could go in the first round with a lot of talent available into day 3. Corners are at a premium in the league now more than ever and I wouldn’t be shocked to see a massive run go early day 3. Corners are a fun position to break down. Some are excellent in press coverage and others only playing off coverage or zone. The biggest thing I look fo

Mock Draft Mondays - V17: The Final One
27/04/2021 Duración: 56minTonight on Mock Draft Monday, special guest Andrew Harbaugh from Blue Chip Scouting joins Tyler and Dave for the final mock draft rolling into the 2021 NFL Draft. This one will be an all out 7 round draft to culminate the mock draft season. How will the Minnesota Vikings do? We’ll have to see how the board falls. Keep an eye on the top 3 tackles, the two top edge guys, and if Trey Lance falls to #14. Whoa! That would be something. The Vikes have 10 picks now but will they keep them, or will Rick Spielman grow that number? This is the last Monday night, we have you join us for a live mock draft. Climbing The Pocket, a Daily Norseman partner, will run a live mock drafts. This is an exercise where we see how the boards fall and who is traditionally there to be available to the Vikings. In the process we learn more about each player and their skills. This allows us to pick our favorites going into the real deal. There are plenty holes and options to fill them. Who do you like? Jump in the conversion and let us k

Tyler Forness’ Top 5 - Interior Defensive Linemen
26/04/2021 Duración: 10minIn this episode Tyler breaks down the top 5 defensive linemen prospects for the draft. The Vikings have a competition available for theinteriror D-line, will the Vikings draft one to compete? Interior Defensive Line One of my favorite positions in the game, this class unfortunately was not very good. Described by a couple of scouts as “the worst interior defensive line classes they had ever seen”, this class overall was not very good, nor was it deep. If you have a dire need for a defensive tackle, this is a bad year to need one. When I grade defensive tackles, I look for a couple of things: winning the rep and pressuring the pocket and not losing the rep or the leverage battle. With help almost always coming from the linebackers at the second level, it’s sometimes more important to keep leverage and hold your position. Understanding that will give you a better snapshot of how a defensive lineman wins. Quickness/Penetration/20 Power/10 Pass Rush Moves/10 Counters/10 Leverage/10 Tackling/10 Size/Length/1

Tyler Forness’ Top 5 - Tight Ends
25/04/2021 Duración: 11minTight End Probably the most unique position on the field, tight ends are asked to do literally everything. They are expected to block, be explosive, and run crisp routes. In order to block, they need to have muscle mass which in turn hinders their explosiveness and speed. When you find a special one, they can be a true game-changer. Look at what Travis Kelce and George Kittle have done for their respective teams. This class has one generational talent, a few other good ones and it falls off of a cliff. When I scout tight ends, I look at all the traits equally. With move, inline, and blocking tight ends, they all have different attributes in which they are strong. My scale is more favorable to those who are great pass catchers, as I believe they are the biggest difference-makers at the position Catching/10 Release/10 Route Running/10 Tracking/5 Separation/5 Contested Catches/10 Power/10 Flexibility/10 Balance/10 Versatility/10 YAC/10 Grade/100 Let’s learn about Kyle Pitts Pat Freiermuth Brevin Jordan T
