  • GMG’s Two Old Bloggers - Is Kubiak the answer? Will Reiff survive?

    15/02/2021 Duración: 33min

Welcome to your Minnesota Vikings talk amongst Two Old Bloggers. Klint Kubiak has been officially named the Vikings Offensive Coordinator for the the 2021 season. Gary’s kid now takes over the offense with what Mike Zimmer wanted, continuity. There is an argument to made for that and things not changing a whole from Kevin Stefanski, Gary Kubiak and now Klint running the same offensive scheme. The same verbiage helps, the knowing of the play book already can open even further adjustments and innovations versus learning all of that new from scratch. People wanted a young innovative mind and maybe Klint will be it. Will Mike let him be? We’ll find out. There are those also worried about his experience [sometimes the same people as above] but like the innovation, it will be successful or not and there are plenty of examples around the league of both. Cap casualty or not, Riley Rieff? Darren and I want to look at whether the Vikings plan on moving on from Reiff, or he from them. Last season, he was told to renego

    09/02/2021 Duración: 41min

Join us for the a live mock draft. Climbing The Pocket, a Daily Norseman partner, win run live mock drafts every Monday night. This is an exercise where we see how the boards fall and who is traditionally there to be available to the Vikings. There are plenty holes and options to fill them. Who do you like? Jump in the conversion and let us know! Round 1, Pick 14: QB Trey Lance, NDSU My number 2 quarterback in the class, Lance is a little bit raw but has every tool in the toolbox. While he would be best suited to have a redshirt season, a run-heavy offense like the Vikings wide zone would give him the best chance at success right away. Round 3, Pick 78: OT Spencer Brown, Northern Iowa A behemoth at 6’8” and over 300 pounds, Brown possesses the size and athleticism the Vikings should find appealing. Round 3, Pick 90: S Andre Cisco, Syracuse An absolute ballhawk, Cisco had 13 interceptions and 14 passes defended in only 24 career games for the Orangemen. A true centerfielder, Cisco would be able to come in

  • Mock Draft Monday 4.0 Results - The Skol Search Continues

    27/01/2021 Duración: 45min

On another fantastic Mock Draft Monday on the Climbing The Pocket YouTube Channel, Dave and I decided to go through the draft based on what we thought was best for this team, but we also still drafted a little bit based on how this organization would draft. Littered through this are high upside athletes and trades that benefit the Vikings this year and next. Round 1, Pick 27 (Via Baltimore): EDGE Gregory Rousseau, Miami We had the Vikings move down from 14 to 27 in exchange for 131, 207, and a second-round selection next year and the Vikings ended up selecting a player likely to go in the top 15 with Gregory Rousseau. Round 3, Pick 78: S Jevon Holland, Oregon With safety being a major need with the uncertainty at the position this year and after 2021, the Vikings take a player out of Oregon in Jevon Holland who can do a little bit of everything. Standing 6’1″ and 196 lbs, Holland can play everywhere including the slot as a nickel cornerback. Round 3, Pick 90: WR D’Wayne Eskridge, Western Michigan Every year,

  • In The Huddle: Vikings Win! Now What?

    08/01/2021 Duración: 01h03min

Your Minnesota Vikings defeated the Detroit Lions in an almost meaningless week 17 game to finish the season at a very painful 7-9. With that, the Vikes land the #14 draft slot and next season’s opponents have been set. Rick Spielman and Mike Zimmer will get a chance to run everything back. After 7 seasons though, have they reached their collective ceiling? Can they bounce back with a more competitive team and one that makes a long run in the playoffs? Gary Kubiak might retire and Zimmer will be looking for a new offensive coordinator… again. Who will that be? Who would you like it to be? Who will maximize Kirk Cousins’ play and still play to Mike’s love of running the football with Dalvin Cook? After lots of injuries, especially on the defensive side of the football, getting those guys back and healthy will help, but what other free agents are available that can contribute to making the defense good or even elite again? What about the offensive side? The refrain of, “can he play guard?” rings across the Viki

  • CTPN’s In The Huddle: Vikings, Saints, Lions and a Fiery Recap

    30/12/2020 Duración: 54min

The guys gather to look at the state of the team we all love, the Minnesota Vikings. After giving up so many points to the Saints, will the Vikings need change? How will they do against the Lions who have seemed to cash in the season? How will that effect the Vikes draft status? This and much more... Join us and hop into the conversation. After the Vikings loss to the Saints, the CTPN personalities look at causes, look into the Lions game ahead, then into the future and some of the bets it will take to be a Super Bowl team. Those big bets are usually for a quarterback, wide receiver, and head coach. Trying to win as presently structured, the team needs to have everything on the defensive side work almost perfectly to make up for some irritating deficiencies on the offensive side. Well, injuries happen and have devastated the Vikings defense this season culminating in the beat down by the New Orleans Saints. The Vikings throughout history, at least since Bud Grant, have always been competitive and have had ve
