Genesis 4:1-13 A Closing Throught The focus of this lession is the undeserved mercy of God as illustrated in the life of Cain. Why He chose tp spare Cain, a condemned murderer, is not revealed in the text. Instead, God's warning and judgment show Him to be the God of mercy and grace. He has given His Word, warning us to avoid sin and keeep if from controling our lives. Ultimately, God gave His Son to bear the penalty for human sin and to provide the way to reconciliation and spiritual fruitfullness through faith. God still granst undeserveed mercy to the contrite and repentant Take an inventory of your walk with the Lord this week. When have you allowed anger and an unforgiving attitude to control you? Are you guilty of approaching God with with unacceptable worship? If so, confess it, repent and praise Him for the undeserved mercy He continues to bestow on you.
