The people of Israel wanted to be like the others, pushing the true King aside and begging for a king of their own.Choosing a king off of eminence, the Israelites soon found themselves once again in bondage from their own sin.God grants them their desires but it only gets them so far as their new king becomes a blueprint for what the king of God’s people is not; putting God’s people in a position yet again, in need of a true King.
