You know that the day of the Lord is coming like a thief (to steal, to plunder, to carry away secretly by stealth) in the night (middle, in-between part, inside hidden part of the day) But you, brethren, are not in darkness (shade, obscurity or shadow), that that day (this appointed time) should overtake you as a secret. You are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night (shadow) (the law is the shadow of things to come), nor of darkness (shadow or obscurity). He who has an ear, let him hear.
