Expert on the Dead Sea Scrolls Dr. Lawrence Schiffman of NYU is on his way to Israel and speaks with Eve Harow on his field of expertise. He’s traveling to a Jerusalem conference from Yad ben Tzvi Institute where he will present his research on 2 of the scrolls concerned with ‘urban planning’ of two millennia ago. Still being studied and analyzed, the DSS remain the greatest archaeological discovery of the 20th century and a challenge of faith for some scholars. He’s not one of them.
