The opener for Jesus’ most famous teaching — the Sermon on the Mount — is in Matthew 5:3-12. It contains eight beatitudes, which are statements of characteristics that are indicative of those living blessed lives. It’s within each description that we find who belief in God enables us to be. And it’s in this becoming that we are blessed. That’s what we’re exploring at Velocity in our sermon series called The Beatitudes.
