Sin requires sacrifice no matter if it is intentional or unintentional    If someone commits an unintentional sin that defiles the Lord’s scared property or his holy things  This could have been the first fruit, first son, the tithes, or a vowed offering  If they failed then they had to make atonement  The sin offering was not enough  They had to bring a guilt offering  Ram no defects or buy one of equal value with silver. There had to be restitution -paying back what was lost and adding 20% to that The offering had to cost them something maybe so they could remember to not do it again.  When we sin, It has already cost our Lord Jesus his life.  2 Cor 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.    There had to be a priest and a sacrifice   They would give the offering to the priest and he would sacrifice the ram and they would be made right and be forgiven.    Blood had to be shed to be forgiven.
