Faith comes from hearing God's Word---AND ACCEPTING GOD"S WORD IN YOUR HEART TO FAITH! You must accept God's Word into your heart to faith for SALVATION! Then the Spirit of God's Words, Christ, creates in you a new heart, the SPIRIT lives in your new heart and you are then a Child of God! It takes more than just believing in God, even the devil and his demons believe in God, but you must believe and invite His Spirit, Christ, into your heart and receive the New Born Again Heart from God (Ezekiel 36:26) and you will immediately know when it happens because you will change inside completely!!.
