This Series: Earlier this year we looked at questions God asked in the Old Testament. To finish out this summer, we will look at 4 penetrating questions that Jesus asked in the New Testament – questions that apply to us today. This Week: Words mean things. The meaning of Lord is: 1. a title of honor expressive of respect and reverence; 2. To whom a person belongs about which he has power of deciding; 3. one who has control. Given the weight behind its meaning, to call Jesus your Lord and then not obey what he says is a slap to his face.
