We have to be able to do it with love and compassion towards ourselves without looking at ourselves with pity, disgust, or a form of hate because of the current stage we are at. However, that being said, we also have to look at the things attached to us that were never meant for us in the first place. This can be anything from relationships that we still entertain and have in our lives, or something as deep as trauma that we still hold on to because we either don’t know how to let it go, or we are too afraid to go back there and fully feel it to allow ourselves to let it go.
