The serpent deceived Eve into thinking there was something more that God should be doing for her which made her feel suspicious and overlooked. So the trust factor came into play. Is God a good God, does he love me, does he want to bless me, and if he is all that why can’t I have the blessings that I should have? But Eve had every blessing that she could have had. Her fear of missing out damaged her soul and drove her into deception. The goal of our faith is the salvation of the soul (1Peter 1:9)– the inner spiritual blessings that we are told God has already blessed us with in Christ Ephesians 1:3. This is the love and peace and joy which is the fruit of the indwelling Spirit, that we can access by faith.
