AGE OF ADAM Humanity was created in the image of God but of a lower order than God (Hebrews 2:7) and with many limitations so it was and is and always will be unable to live AS God. However it can rise to astonishing acts of love and compassion, but sink to atrocious depths of violence, fear and corruption. Built into this being was the capacity to live with a blind notion that God was absent from its life. That is why Adam and Eve thought they could hide from God. So their disobedience and their loss of innocence expressed what humanity was always destined to express in its falling short of the glory of God. After that act of falling short the essential humanity remained the same as always but with a new consciousness of darkness and an obsession with its separated self that could go in any twisted pathway it might choose.
