Welcome to the Movers and Shakers podcast. This weeks guest is Darren Light. A mechanical engineer by trade, Darren quickly realized that his W-2 job and 401K would not support the current and retirement lifestyle that he wanted. After being convinced by a friend he attended one of the guru seminars, locally in Knoxville. Darren started purchasing single family rentals and doing flips 4 months after attending the seminar. In April of 2017 he was laid off from his corporate job of 12 years. At that moment Darren went all in to real estate investing by cashing in his 401K and stock options. In November of 2017 he attended the very first Jake and Gino live event in Knoxville. During the first day of the event he made the decision to focus on multifamily assets and sell all of his single family rentals. Darren also still enjoy flipping houses.
