RESEARCH, GOEGRAPHY AND IPV Research is important, but so is perfecting research. Especially in the areas of Intimate Partner Violence. We usually see geographic differences (if addressed at all) as reflecting urban, suburban and rural areas. But two IPV researchers started seeing some problems with that and decided to get to the bottom of it. They sifted through the National Crime Victimization Survey data to better understand how settlement types impacts the type of violence against women. What they found is that using three geographic designations only gives a very imperfect reflection of violence against women.
