If it is not God making the rules, someone else will. God's rules flow out of His character. He is the great I AM. We in the West pride ourselves on freedom from rules, but this has only led to despair, anxiety, abandonment, and anguish. The way of Jesus offers a simple, easy yoke. When we walk at His pace and submit to His rules, we find rest, goodness, and contentment.
