With Christmas just around the corner, Ireland’s haulage industry is warning of a looming crisis. The sector says it’s short more than 4,000 HGV drivers over the next five years, and that without urgent action, the impact could be felt as soon as this festive season, with delayed deliveries, rising grocery prices and lorries parked up for lack of drivers.
