What if I told you that every person you pass today has an I.O.U. with your name on it? Not for money, not for favors, but for love. In Romans 13:8–10, Paul says there’s one debt you’ll never pay off—the debt to love others. Every handshake, every encounter, every neighbor, even every enemy is a reminder: I owe you love. It’s the one bill that never comes due, because it’s always owed.But here’s the twist: Paul wrote those words to Christians in Rome who were misunderstood, mocked, and later even martyred under Nero’s cruelty. And still, the call remained—love does no harm to a neighbor; love fulfills God’s law. What does it mean to live with love as your only debt in a world that doesn’t always love you back?
