Earlier this morning, Governor Ricketts and Revenue Committee Chair Jim Smith hosted a press conference with groups supporting the Nebraska Property Tax Cuts and Opportunities Act (LB 947). At the news conference, the Nebraska Farm Bureau announced that should the bill pass as-is, NFB would divert resources from the looming property tax ballot initiative Keith Berns, Green Cover Seed, discussing results from a cover crop field day held last week by the Central Platte NRD and Nebraska Extension. Ag groups are reacting to the latest announcements on higher duties on Chinese goods. China has now responded with their own tariffs on products like U.S. Pork. Ron Moore, Illinois farmer and Chairman of the American Soybean Association discusses the move and fears the group now faces.
