The entire Book of Joel has been building up to this segment. The plague of locusts as they’re swallowing up the people of God and destroying the nation; just when they were at the point of being crushed . . . we read verses 12-13.  “Yet even now," declares the LORD, "return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and rend your hearts and not your garments." Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster.” Hence the title of this sermon series: “From Judgment To Reconciliation.” God offer to relent is still open to anyone who would rend their hearts and return to The Lord.
