This week we'll be discussing swimmer's ear, a common problem as we take to the water during the hot summer months. “Swimmer's ear,” or “otitis externa,” is an inflammation involving the skin of external ear canal. This inflammation is almost exclusively a result of bacterial infection. There are an estimated 2.4 million health care visits in the US each year because of swimmer's ear.
