Sinopsis

This week Eliza and Geraldine discuss a memoir from former journalist, Cynthia Banham. She survived a horrible plane crash in Yogyakarta, Indonesia in 2007 which killed 21 people, including five Australians. Her story is about determination in the face of adversity. But it’s also about love and gratitude for the help you receive after a traumatic event. One of the victims of the crash - the journalist Morgan Mellish – used to live in Eliza’s house in Jakarta. The women talk about how the relationship between Australia and Indonesia has evolved since that terrible accident. And they also muse about the secret to a happy life.
