Sinopsis

What is a synaxis of All Saints, and why do we celebrate them the Sunday after Pentecost? It is rare to be a saint, but we are all called to be saints! How are we going to become saints, even though we have sins, some of which we cannot overcome? This starts with how we identify ourselves and the things we, in our heart of hearts, really value. In our modern, sin loving and excusing age, we must take a stand for who we are. This is true confession. In this context, we examine the verses read today: "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. 37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me." (Matthew 10:32-33, 37-38)
