Jesus resisted sin and obeyed the will of His Father, even to the point of death on the cross for our sins. In light of that, the Christian can know for sure that God will use everything in our lives, including suffering, to prepare us and grow us in holiness. Following Christ’s example, our response to suffering should reflect a growing departure from sin and a desire to follow God’s will.
