* This episode was archived June 2019 and is only available for subscribers I always thought I didn't like Kevin McCloud from Grand Designs because he seemed to be a man of privilege finding his way into a cushy presenting job of a popular national tv show. But the more I watched of him in video I realised this was my prejudice and the more I watch of the guy the more I realise he is just a normal human being who enjoys design and construction and isn't really into the construction or commercial side of things. Its easy to look at a figure 'from the tv' and label them. I come from the commercial side of construction, property development and investment but I do love design and I enjoy watch Kevin's iconic program 'Grand Designs' I take a quick look at Kevin's life and the content of the show and look at its affect on the middle class in the UK making them desire a certain lifestyle that maybe should be well beyond their reach. I like the show and it's structure but I do wonder whether lots of people who shou
