SurrenderYour Words for 2020Here it is, the first word for the New Year. As you may know, we are spending the next several weeks meditating on your words for 2020. This week’s word is Surrender.Surrender is a funny word; often associated with defeat and weakness. Thankfully, these don’t apply in our case. When we surrender to Jesus, we receive the reward which He secured for us. Nothing defeated but death, and nothing weak but its power over us.Do you live from the foundation that you have been fully forgiven? If not, it’s time to stop striving to achieve something that is already yours. Jesus died as you, not for you.My old identity has been co-crucified with Messiah and no longer lives; for the nails of his cross crucified me with him. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives his life through me—we live in union as one!
