Dr Jewel Plummer Cobb and Dr Vivien Thomas were both medical pioneers. Dr Cobb was a pioneer of cancer research involving skin cancers and leukemia. Dr Vivien Thomas was a pioneer of cardiovascular surgery, without any medical degree. Their accomplishments are mind boggling.
