Understanding the scriptures is so important and its not something that just happen on it's own without you studying the word and also God revealing Himself to you. These are two different things and experiences. 1 Samuel 3:7 shown us an example of this.  it says" Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD: The word of the LORD had not yet been revealed to him." It's in Matthew 22:29, Jesus said, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. This is the common reason why people err. So many people are in error because they do not understand the scriptures and the power of God.
