Bitterness comes through a heart that is deceived. Satan sinned (the very first sin) because he was bitter toward God. Everything he uses to distract, deceive, destroy, all stem from a root of bitterness toward God. How often people have indulged themselves in sin because they feel like God is holding out on them....or God is holding something back.
