Rain   fell for "forty days and forty nights" during the Flood, (Genesis 7:4). Forty days was also the period from the resurrection to the   ascension of Jesus (Acts 1:3). It is period of testing, trial, and   probation. Great breakthroughs have happened after a forty-day period.
