Leadership Matters

One of Heartland Family Service’s emerging leaders, Shannon Mahnke, was recently honored by the Midlands Business Journal as a “40 Under 40” awardee – a young professional who is making a significant contribution to the community. A human services professional who is passionate about restoring hope to people struggling with mental health issues and addictions, especially women and children, Shannon has been instrumental in creating the only residential treatment facility for pregnant and/or parenting mothers in southwest Iowa where the mothers enter treatment with their children. Recently, Shannon assumed responsibility for leading the agency’s outpatient behavioral health programming in Iowa as well.
