Multi-Talented Artist Vanessa Tignanelli sits down with Richard to discuss the many ongoing opportunities and projects she has in several different artistic mediums and her purpose and goals as an artist. Vanessa Tignanelli is a Canadian documentary photographer and videographer currently based in North Bay, Ontario, available for assignment. Combining her training in conceptual art, journalism and filmmaking, her work moves beyond the typical snapshot to the more significant environmental portrait, encouraging viewers to consider the notion of authenticity. She is interested in subjects that reconcile identities that we are taught cannot coincide by traditional society and stereotypes, working with themes confronting sexism, ageism and classicism.  The work celebrates resiliency and individuality, looks for hope in hardship, takes us to people living on the fringes of society, and calls for us to be comfortable there.
