Many people today are stuck fleeing from suffering as the disciples did on the Holy Thursday as Jesus was taken from them in the garden. It seems God has disappeared. Through staying busy, distractions, staying strong, and cover up we avoid suffering. Avoiding suffering creates more suffering. Suffering either clogs you up or opens the airways. Give yourself permission to cry. Suffering reminds us that “this isn’t heaven.” Tears help the exchange from suffering to love. Suffering gets us out of the way.  As you cry on Good Friday, you call it what it is and you need someone who understands to walk with you.
