In this section of the teaching, we will continue looking at the daily Temple service as it relates to the daily tamid lamb offering. We will see that a third lot was drawn to select the priest who would burn incense at the incense altar. We will see that this is the setting in Luke 1 where Zecharias, the father of John the Baptist, was selected to burn the incense at the altar of incense. These prayers included personal prayers as well as the traditional standing prayer known as the Amidah.
