In the Melchizedek Priesthood, there are three offices or roles: Firstborn, King and Priest. These offices were split up by Jacob between three different groups. Joseph was given the firstborn birthright blessing. Judah was given the kingship blessing and office. And the Levite Priests were given the priestly blessing and office.
