We begin by looking at Romans 13:14: But put you on the Lord Messiah Yeshua, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof. The term “put on” is a reference to a priestly duty/function as we see in 1 Peter 1:9: But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. Paul explains that when we “put on” Messiah we are “immersed” in Messiah. This principle is seen in Galatians 3:27: For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
