Yeshua, the Lawgiver, entered into a marriage relationship with His bride, the House of Jacob. The ketubah for this marriage is contained in the giving of the Ten Commandments at Mt Sinai. The house of Jacob was unfaithful in their marriage vows. They broke the covenant and did not follow the Torah. They committed spiritual adultery and went after other gods. Because of this He exiled them into the nations, as a form of separation/divorce. However, his love is so great for his bride that He shows the highest form of Torah love by laying down his for her by dying on the tree, offering restoration and reconciliation of the marriage relationship. This is what Paul is explaining in Romans 7:1-4. Yeshua’s death on the tree severs the consequences of the original marriage wherein his wife was unfaithful to Him and she receives the guilt and punishment for her sin. If she repents of her sins she can now be received into a renewed marriage covenant with Yeshua. This involves her dying to self, dying to pride, dying
